Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Auckland

Welcome to Aotearoa, New Zealand! Your journey begins in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city, known as the ‘City of Sails’ with two harbours and over 44 volcanoes. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and receive your welcome letter with tour details. This evening, meet your fellow travellers and expert local guide at 6:15pm, followed by a delightful welcome dinner at 6:30pm to kickstart your holiday.

Day 2: Auckland to Rotorua

This morning, we leave vibrant Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland for the legendary Waitomo glowworm caves, once admired by Sir David Attenborough himself. Glide by boat beneath a galaxy of twinkling glowworms before exploring an ancient limestone cave, sculpted by nature over millions of years.

Our journey then takes us onward to Rotorua, New Zealand’s geothermal heartland. This evening, savour a delicious group dinner before settling into the comfort of your Rotorua accommodation for a well-earned rest.

Day 3: Rotorua

This morning, we’ll journey along the edge of Lake Rotorua to a lookout with stunning views of Mount Tarawera, once home to the famous Pink and White Terraces before the 1886 eruption. Next, visit the Buried Village, New Zealand’s most visited archaeological site, to learn about the eruption’s impact and explore the remains of Te Wairoa village.

In the afternoon, take a refreshing walk through Whakarewarewa Forest, where towering Redwoods, Douglas firs, and native Silver ferns surround you. Then enjoy free time to explore Rotorua at your own pace, wander the geothermal wonders of Kuirau Park, stroll lakeside and through the Government Gardens, relax at the Polynesian Spa, or ride the Gondola for breathtaking views of the Rotorua Skyline.

Day 4 – Rotorua to Taupo

This morning, we’ll head to Lake Aniwhenua in Murupara to experience authentic New Zealand hospitality. Nestled on the lake, Kohutapu Lodge is owned by a passionate Māori family dedicated to community transformation through local initiatives.

Begin with a guided tour of sacred Māori rock carvings before witnessing the preparation of a traditional ground cooked hangi. Then, enjoy what many say is one of the finest meals in New Zealand, served at the lodge. After lunch, we travel to Taupō to marvel at the strikingly beautiful Huka Falls and explore this charming lakeside town.

Day 5 – Taupo to Napier

After breakfast, we travel to the beautiful Hawke’s Bay region, home to some of New Zealand’s finest wineries. A visit to Mission Estate Winery includes a wine tasting followed by a leisurely lunch, where you can savour delicious food and exceptional wines while soaking up the sunny, picturesque surroundings.

Later, enjoy a short drive to Napier, a charming coastal town renowned for its perfectly preserved Art Deco architecture. Spend your evening strolling along the tree-lined promenade and indulge in fresh seafood at one of the many beachfront restaurants.

Day 6 – Napier to Wellington

This morning, we leave Napier and journey to Wellington, New Zealand’s capital, famous for serving the country’s best coffee! On the way, we stop in Greytown, Wairarapa’s oldest town, for lunch. This charming village, with its beautifully restored Victorian buildings, is perfect for browsing boutiques and relaxing before continuing to Wellington.

With under 220,000 residents, Wellington uniquely blends a relaxed vibe with a vibrant, bohemian culture. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore and be sure not to miss a visit to Te Papa, New Zealand’s national museum, renowned for its captivating exhibits.

Day 7 – Wellington to Nelson

This morning, we’ll start our journey with breakfast aboard the ferry in the brand-new Pohutukawa Lounge. Designed like a premium airport lounge, it offers a relaxing atmosphere and a delicious spread of food to enjoy as we cross the Cook Strait. If the weather is fine, head up to the deck to take in stunning views of the Marlborough Sounds and keep an eye out for local wildlife. Upon arriving in Picton, we’ll travel to a Marlborough vineyard amidst the vines at one of New Zealand’s top Sauvignon Blanc producers for a tasting, we’ll continue to Nelson, where we’ll have time to unwind, explore the area, and sample some of the region’s fantastic local food and beverages.

For nature lovers, a day trip to Abel Tasman National Park offers golden beaches and crystal-clear waters.

If you’re up for a rewarding hike, the Track to the Centre of New Zealand provides stunning panoramic views from the summit, a perfect way to connect with the region’s natural beauty.
